3 Days of Satsang and Asana with Mark Whitwell
Yoga is an ancient science of participation in the wonder of body and breath, of whole body prayer to life, of feeling our nature as nature. What has happened?! Join Mark Whitwell for this relaxed three day gathering of students exploring what Yoga looks like as intimacy with body, breath, and all tangible conditions, rather than either physical or spiritual gymnastics. Learn the basic principles from the great tradition to make sure yoga is actually enjoyable, non-obsessive, safe, and not a search for a future sublime result (in the process denying the sublimity that we already are). Adapt yoga to you, not you to yoga.

BIO: Mark Whitwell is the founder of The Heart of Yoga Foundation, a non-profit group committed to yoga education around the world. Mark Whitwell teaches yoga throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia and New Zealand. Whitwell’s teachings translate the profound passion and relevance of ancient wisdom into contemporary life. His teachings are controversial, believing that spiritual enlightenment and physical gymnastics are not needed and only denies the reality of our own wonder. Whitwell sees a more accessible form of yoga as the means by which ordinary men and women can easily absorb the nurturing force of life freely. Mark’s teachings, his book “The Promise” and his app, Yoga Promise, are helping make a personal practice feasible for tens of thousands daily around the world.
